On Saturday, January 19, Galleria d'Arte Maggiore switches on its spotlights on the mysterious and fascinating paintings by Graham Sutherland, an English and internationally known artist who died in 1980. He dedicated himself to various art forms – from engraving to oil painting, from watercolors to the design of glass objects – and to themes which can be even distant from each other: from landscapes to the illustration of printed texts, from the religious painting to that of war scenes. Within such a rich production, the curators Franco and Roberta Calarota have selected a precise path that focuses on his work as an engraver and graphic designer, on the oil and watercolor production and on the famous series of etchings dedicated to bees, so that to offer the visitor a clear key to get in touch with a great master of contemporary art.
