January 21 - April 15, 2012
Following the return to figuration which can be recently noticed on the international scene in the art world, Galleria d'Arte Maggiore of Bologna opens its activity in 2012 with an homage to one of the most appreciated italian artists outside national borders: Sandro Chia. Being a protagonist of the so-called Transavanguardia, the last italian movement to capture in chronological order the foreign counties, Chia's artistic research is presented by Franco and Roberta Calarota with a chosen selection of both historical and recent works, which illustrate his entire production. But that is not all since also some very refined ceramics will be exhibited for the first in Bologna. These ceramics were realized on the occasion of the exhibition "Sandro Chia. Ceramica vs Disegno 1:0" at the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche di Faenza in April 2011, organized in partnership with Galleria d'Arte Maggiore.
