Giorgio Morandi

The volume accompanies a large retrospective dedicated to Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964), organized by the historic Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. of Bologna to celebrate its first forty years of activity.

An exhibition which, through a selection of oils, watercolours, drawings and etchings, ranges from the famous still lifes to refined vases of flowers, up to solitary landscapes, revealing all of Morandi's silent but profound pictorial innovation, suspended between reality and abstraction, continuous source of inspiration for generations of contemporary artists.
