Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. is delighted to participate to Art Basel Hong Kong with an important selection of Giorgio Morandi's oils inside ITALIANS -  A collective booth of 8 Italian galleries, a project by Italian Cultural Institute - Hong Kong.

In this occasion Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. is proud to present a dialogue between

Giorgio Morandi and Bertozzi&Casoni.

One of the favourite subjects that Giorgio Morandi used to depict was thesmall bunches of flowers placed in ceramic vases. But the flowers painted by Morandi were fake ones, dried or silk: fresh flowers would not have last enough to guarantee stability to the composition that the artist had carefully prepared. The artworks in ceramic created by Bertozzi&Casoni pay homage to Giorgio Morandi and his flowers. An "eulogy of fake flowers" that are stolen from its ephemeral dimension to become an object that lasts over time: an interpretation from full-blown 'd'aprés Morandi' emerges with brightly coloured insects willing to breathe new life into this renowned Morandian subject.
