«Manzù's art is supreme and tranquil as is life, death, the vicissitudes of time and the seasons, the light of the sun or the night with the course of its stars. In every completed form there is something definitive and ineluctable, which cannot be rejected just as one cannot refuse the feeling of one's own eternal genesis and determination in the consistency of a person. Immersing oneself in Manzù's sculpture is rediscovering the august and silent origins of a being who becomes conscious, a sort of coinciding with self-awareness as in a miraculous, exhilarating nativity which is both ancestral memory and a link with the continuous vital renewal that unites us with all things».
